Welcome to Avanti Freewheelers Community Cycling Club – Reading, a club for juniors who want to take their cycling to a new and exciting level, who want to learn to ride, want to improve their riding skills, learn a new cycling discipline or who just want to have fun riding.

Avanti Freewheelers Community Cycling Club – Reading, your local community cycling club based in Reading, has grown out of the passion and desire of a small group of cyclists, coaches, instructors and ride leaders who wish to provide a special opportunity for young people, primarily aged 12* to 16 (*includes those year 7 secondary school pupils aged 11), to enjoy the freedom and excitement that comes from riding their bikes.

We’ve all cycled since an early age and most of us spend many hours each week cycling to work, cycling for work of just plain having fun cycling! Our aim is to help and encourage todays young people to have as much fun as we had when their age; and still do!

Under the guidance of our qualified coaches, instructors and guides, we’ll help you to meet new friends, explore new areas, have fantastic cycling adventures, learn new skills, maybe event try something new. Our main focus for the club is those aged 12* to 16 but we’ll also be running events for the younger rider aged 7 to 11 and there will be family orientated events too, and especially for the younger riders not just cycling related.

 

Our Local Event/Ride Locations

Currently based locally in Reading at three locations,  The Weller Centre, the Southcote Community Hub and the South Reading Community Hub, your club is a great place to meet your friends and make new ones whilst developing and refining skills that will last a lifetime.
